Auto Tune: It’s like training wheels for Hip Hop Music.

Can someone please tell me what the fuck happened?

Remember this?

I remember thinking, when I heard this awful song, ‘What the hell is Cher doing to her voice?’  It reminded me of Roger and Zap from the 80s, but not nearly as neato sounding.

Well apparently what she is doing to her voice in that song is using an auto processor to her voice to manipulate it.

Ok that’s all fine and dandy.  Then along comes Faheem Rasheed Najm, or better known as T Pain and in 2005, we start hearing his “unique” sound hitting the airwaves.  I remember back when Nate Dogg was on every track.  If it was a hit, it featured Nate Dogg.  Where the hell did Nate Dogg go?  I’d really like him to make a triumphant return and maybe go toe to toe with T Pain in some sort of ultimate death match throwdown.  T Pain is now on every song.  Every goddamn song!  And when I don’t hear him, I’m hearing hip hop artists now using auto tune.

Isn’t this like cutting corners?  Hey, we don’t have to sing, just use a program to do all the work.

I’m looking at YOU Kanye!

Same song, but live.  Sounds bad without your auto tune.

Busta!

Seriously….who are you and what did you do with Busta Rhymes?  This Busta Rhymes?

Lil Wayne, what the hell man?

Get back this please…

Even 50 Cent?

Dammit T Pain, I hate your face!

Ok, not really.  But I blame you.
