I Love You, Man

I got to see I Love You, Man this past Saturday. I haven’t seen Jason Segel in a movie since Forgetting Sarah Marshall which really was an awesome movie and if you’re interested, you can read my blathering on it here
I’ve been a fan of Paul Rudd for a while now. The chemistry between these two is great. Paul Rudd is really a genius when it comes to comedy. The nuances and subdued nature of many things he does in this movie is outstanding. It reminds me of how he stole the show in The 40 Year Old Virgin.
I’m not going to go into plot points or story here. The movie definitely has a target demographic. If you see the trailer and posters and find yourself not interested in seeing this film, then there’s nothing I can say to change your mind.
The supporting cast is pretty cool too with Jane Curtain, Andy Samberg, Jon Favreau, and Thomas Lennon to name a few.
Overall, it was fun and smart. Well done. A few points in the film, I found plot devices I’d have tweaked a bit but not much.
If I had stars, 4 out of 5.

Agreed. I enjoyed I Love You, Man quite a bit when I saw it last night. The scenes with Jason Segel and Paul Rudd were very natural… I wouldn’t doubt it if there was no script at all. Just letting those two ad-lib their conversations would certainly bring the most hilarious lines out of them. Anyway, nice post.
I will see anything with Paul Rudd in it.
